About truthbetold
Inspired by a passion for illustration, graphic design and all things paper; truthbetold was founded in 2008 by all round creative lady Jess Hyde.
Working from a studio in North Melbourne, Jess has collaborated with a variety of small businesses and clients from around Australia and overseas to create original branding, illustrations and custom wedding and event stationery. With the motto ‘creative always’, Jess loves to work closely with clients to create solutions that are fresh and bring your vision to life.
Custom Event Stationery
truth be told, we love parties almost as much as we love paper (which is a lot). Our designer Jess happily combines the two by creating custom event stationery and styling for weddings, parties and any celebration you can dream up.
We believe that it is the little details that help to make an event special and the invitation can set the tone for the event. We will work closely with you throughout the process to ensure that the final pieces are meaningful, beautiful and represent your story and event and long after serve as a reminder of sweet memories made.
We love to create designs that represent your story in a modern way that is a little left of centre to create pieces that are original and will set the mood for your celebration.

In addition to the custom services, Jess also designs a range of stationery and paper products as truthbetold. Featuring original illustrations and designs, we like to think of our stationery as sweet soon - to - be - keepsakes that will make you want to write sweet cards to your friends, share your favourite recipes, write love letters or give sweet art to brighten their day.

It sounds like a cliche but Jess has been passionate about all things design and illustration since she got her first set of Derwent pencils.
After graduating with a degree in Architecture, Jess began designing and illustrating just for the love of it - which led to the beginnings of what is today the truthbetold stationery range. Inspired by a love of bold colours, nostalgia, old hollywood and dreamy banjo tunes.
Today Jess spends her days working in architecture but by night (and on the weekends, and every spare moment) she can be found exploring and creating fun and quirky designs - kind of like a photoshop loving, pencil wielding version of Batman. If Batman owned a lot of vintage dresses that is.

When she isn't designing and creating she can be found brunching, scouring vintage shops, watching old movies, wishing she was a back up singer and dreaming about traveling to far away places.
Jess has been lucky enough to exhibit her illustration including the Fully Six exhibition (presented by Youngbloods), Disband (Sydney and Melbourne), Once Upon and On the Wall – 2010 (presented by Leeloo).
